Church of England Diocese of York Skelton
About the church
St Giles Church, Skelton, is one of England's 1000 best churches (Simon Jenkins).
Building started in 1247, reputedly by masons also building York Minster.
The church is normally open every day from 10:00 to 16:00; visitors are welcome.
A guide to the church is available. They are part of a benefice of three churches.

The congregation for ordinary services is usually about 30.
The church uses the "Common Worship" order of service, with hymns from "Mission Praise" and music of the "The Addington Service". Every month they have an informal All Age service (the 4th Sunday of the month).
Everyone is welcome to join.
Since the new and easier rules from the Church of England regarding weddings in church came into effect, they are receiving requests to be married at the church from far afield. The church is very keen to invite couples to come and see them at St. Giles and see how they can help with the couple's wedding plans. For wedding enquiries please contact Sylvia Mitchell on mail@sylviamitchell1.plus.com

Details of services are given in the Worship Calendar section of the church's monthly Parish & Community Newsletter.
The newsletter contains information on the church.
